Eye Lift (Blepharoplasty) FAQs

1. How common is the procedure?
Blepharoplasty is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures.

2. How do I know if I am a good candidate for blepharoplasty?
The best candidates for the eye lift procedure usually include patients who appear to look sleepy.

3. What other procedures can be performed in conjunction with the blepharoplasty?
Some patients prefer to have rhinoplasty along with the eyelid surgery. Others focus only on the specific area of the eyes and brows. Blepharoplasty is flexible in that it may be combined with other procedures..

4. What are the risks of this procedure?
Complications are fortunately infrequent and minor. Certain side effects such as blurred vision can occur due to the applied ointments. Other than that, complications are most certainly rare.

5. Are there any scars left from blepharoplasty?
The incisions are carefully made so they will fit in with the natural creases and folds in your eye area. If necessary, another incision may be made at the side of the eye, which will result in an invisible scar.

6. When will I be able to see the results of the procedure?
The results will appear immediately after the surgery, however the scars will fade completely over a few weeks.

7. How common are revisions for blepharoplasty?
If a competent doctor performs the procedure, revisions are rarely needed

8. Are there any alternatives to this procedure?
There are no alternatives to eye lift surgery, but combination surgery allows for a more youthful appearance.
