Male Breast Reduction (Gynecomastia)

Male breast reduction / gynecomastia - before and after pictures of surgeryMany men are faced with the issue of enlarged breast tissue. They are afraid to wear t-shirts or remove their shirts at the beach because they feel like they have women’s breasts. This is an embarrassing genetic condition that will not go away with diet and exercise.

How is the procedure performed?

Male breast reduction is performed on an outpatient basis in our on-site surgical center, using local or general anesthesia. Liposuction is usually the treatment of choice, however, sometimes excess glandular tissue and skin are also removed if necessary.

How long will my surgery take? You would arrive approximately an hour prior to surgery. The anesthesiologist and Dr. Kahn will meet with you to answer any questions you may have. You will then be brought into our on-site surgical suite where anesthesia will be administered.

The procedure takes approximately 2 hours to perform. Following the procedure, you will rest comfortably in the recovery room for about two hours. At that time you may leave with someone driving you home.

For the next couple of weeks, a compression garment will need to be worn over the treated area. This garment helps to control any swelling you may experience. Our patients tell us that this procedure is not painful and you will notice an improvement right away.
