Nasal Surgery (Rhinoplasty)

1. Does rhinoplasty cure sinus problems?
No, rhinoplasty is an aesthetic procedure that doesn't involve the sinus area of the nose.

2. What other procedures can be performed in conjunction with a rhinoplasty?
Some patients prefer to have chin implants or facelifts while having a nose job. Also, a rhinoplasty can be combined with a septoplasty, which is a procedure aimed to correct a deviation of the nasal septum.

3. Is this a permanent procedure?
Yes, rhinoplasty is a permanent procedure.

4. How long does the nasal operation take?
Depending on the complexity, rhinoplasty can last anywhere from 1 to 3 hours.

5. When can I return to work after a nose surgery?
Most patiets return to work after about a week.

6. Is the recovery painful?
The procedure is not painful, although some discoloration, bruising and swelling may occur.

7. Are there any scars or bruises left from the procedure?
Some bruising may occur but will fade usually 10 to 14 days after the procedure, however the tip of the nose may be slightly swollen for months after the surgery (though the swelling is visible to the patient and doctor only).

8. When will I be able to see the results after rhinoplasty?
Results are immediate, although in most cases the tip of the nose may stay swollen for an extended period.
