The Weekend Facelift incorporates some of the most advanced and current techniques developed in the plastic surgery field. The problems it addresses are the ones that people notice first in the mirror, such as jowling of the jawline, fullness of the neck, the turkey waddle appearance of the neck and the loss of the jawline curve. The weekend facelift targets these areas through a minimally invasive procedure, with a short recovery period and naturally-looking results.
In the past, most lower face problems would have
been addressed by performing a face or neck lift, which involve
significant incisions behind the ear and a long recovery time
for the patient. Through the weekend facelift, several of these
unpleasant aspects have been eliminated and recovery time has
been substantially shortened. The number and size of required
incisions has been greatly reduced and these incisions are confined
to the neck (below the chin) only. This procedure is simple enough that only local
anesthesia is required and the patient can drive home unassisted
after the hour-long surgery. The biggest advantage of the weekend facelift is that the same or better result is now accomplished with a much simpler procedure. This new procedure involves the use of microliposuction to reduce excess fat. The use of laser techniques is also employed to tighten the skin of the neck. All of these procedures are done through a small incision beneath the chin. The tiny incision requires only a few sutures and is then covered with surgical tape. There is no postoperative pain and minimal bruising and swelling from the weekend facelift. After four to five days the patient can return to work.
All weekend facelift procedures are performed in our fully equipped and accredited operating room. Local anesthesia such as Novacaine is all that is required, however the patient can request an IV drip for sedation. All anesthesia choices are made according to the patient's needs. The procedure is typically less painful than a trip to the dentist.
The ideal patient for this procedure requires only sufficient elasticity in the skin of the neck region. As opposed to conventional facelifts, which can result into undesirable scars and a "plastic" look, the weekend facelift leads to a natural, rejuvenated appearance without any visible scars or the look of major surgery — so the procedure can be kept totally private if desired.
Below is an overview of the major differences between the weekend facelift and the traditional facelift:
Facelift:
- generally used for patients with poor skin elasticity
- tightens all major skin areas of the face
- surgery takes about 3 hours
- general anethesia necessary
- incisions in and about the ear creases
- cost varies by work done, may range from $7,000 to 12,000
- fee is for surgery, anesthesia and operating room
- generally lasts 5 to 10 years
Weekend Facelift:
- best candidates have good skin elasticity
- affects mainly the lower area of the face
- surgery takes about 1 hour
- can be done under local anethesia
- small incision under the chin
- back to work in a few days
- cost varies by procedures, ranging from $4,000 to $6,000
- length of time it lasts depends on different factors affecting one's individual skin elasticity

Patient Testimonial:
I am very pleased with the results of my neck microsuction. I think I look ten years younger! The procedure was relatively painless and within a week most of the swelling and bruising was gone. I highly recommend this procedure. - Janet B. See all Patient Testimonials >> |
